About the Course
The Phlebotomy Technician program is designed to train individuals to collect blood for laboratory testing and patient care. Students will be educated and trained to perform venipuncture and capillary puncture. Students will be educated on medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, quality assurance methods, and legal issues pertaining to phlebotomy. The program training consists of 6 weeks in-class lectures, hands-on training, plus 40 hours of clinical externship training at an approved medical facility. Students will need to apply for certification upon completion of the program.
